The Department of Educational Psychology pursues a mission rooted in research, teaching, service and community engagement and is built around the core values of trust, respect, and equity. Faculty research has two broad aims. First, the Department focuses on the study and application of psychological theories to develop educational experiences. Collectively, faculty members realize this aim through basic, applied, and translational research that explores all facets of the learning sciences, including cognition, life-span development, socio-emotional and socio-cultural development, technology, mental health and well-being, and achievement in formal and informal educational contexts. Second, the Department specializes in approaches to educational inquiry and the development of quantitative, qualitative, and evaluative methodologies that underpin the development of evidence-based, policy-relevant studies.
Congratulations! You've taken the first step to becoming a student of the College of Education. The application process is different for undergraduate and graduate studies.
